The professional plan costs $39.99 per month, with limitless selling times.

For both plans, Amazon also collects a referral fee on each sale, which is a percentage of the total transaction and varies by product category.

The professional selling plan might be suitable for you (according to amazon.com) if:

  • If you are selling more than 40 units a month.
  •  You are planning to advertise your products.
  •  You want to sell products in restricted categories.

Decide on the selling strategy

There are two main selling strategies to start selling on Amazon:

  1.  Resellers locate widely known pre-existing products and sell them in Amazon’s stores.
  2.  To provide shoppers with a unique selection, brand owners either manufacture their own products or source goods to sell under a private label.

Many sellers do both. You can use whatever method best serves your needs.
