Backorders

When a backordered domain says 'pending registration delete' what does it actually mean? I've searched a bit and I keep reading pending delete domains become available after 5 days. What does this even mean? I backordered a domain which says it expired in April, but it still reads 'pending registration delete'. Can't get my head around the domain lifecycle!

Re: Backorders

Hi @yismail84,

Welcome to the Community!

You can view the GoDaddy timeline for expired domains here. Is, or was, the domain registered at GoDaddy?

The term "Pending Registration Delete" generally means that the domain has already expired, been returned to the Registry and, once deletion is complete, will be available for general registration. To have a GoDaddy backorder snag the domain for you, it would have had to be purchased before the domain left the GoDaddy system. GoDaddy has no control over how long the Registry will hold the domain until release.
