I have managed my website for years using Filezilla FTP to mirror contents with my hard drive. Now when I log in I can see that a number of the sub directories were changed on a single day and have permission set to 0700 (versus 0755 for my standard) and the owner is 0 (versus my usual 7-digit owner number).
I guess as a result of this I cannot access the folders and cannot see any files in the folders.
I need to know how to change the owner back to my 7-digit owner so that I have permission to access and change the affected folders.
Thanks.

Please check the above article to set directory permissions...
Thank you

Thank you for replying. I see different options to those described in that article but I can get to a screen via privacy to update the permissions. Even if I enable everything the folder only changes to 705 and I still cannot access it via FTP (or simple browser access).
Are you using Linux Hosting or Windows Hosting?...

Thanks for your help again. I am running Linux.
The only solution I found in the end was to delete the site and re-upload from scratch.
