htaccess on windows hosting not working

I have used .htaccess file for url rewritting. when i click link, browser shows 404 error. but if full extention is user link works properly

 

This does not work: mysite.com/about

This works: mysite.com/about.php

 

My htaccess file is as below:

Options +FollowSymlinks -MultiViews -Indexes
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /subdirectory/
RewriteRule ^/?$ /1 [L]
Options -MultiViews
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}.php -f
RewriteRule !.*\.php$ %{REQUEST_FILENAME}.php

 

What shall i do? Please help

Updates through an .htaccess file only work in Linux based hosting environments. If you're wanting to rewrite URL addresses, you'll want to review our article here on utilizing the Microsoft URL Rewrite Module instead.
