Godaddy SSL not working on Managed Wordpress

    Hey,

I've been trying for about a week now to get my GoDaddy issued SSL certificate to work with my managed WordPress site on http://activismacademy.com/

Customer support is kindly and unhelpfully repeatedly sending me to this guide  which very clearly says:
These instructions don't apply to Managed WordPress accounts with an SSL certificate. The HTTPS redirect is automatically enabled after the SSL certificate install finishes on a Managed WordPress account.

Furthermore changing the URL from http to https is impossible through the WordPress interface as the URL is managed by GoDaddy.

Have others been facing these issues? Does anyone possess the knowledge or know of any guides to figure out how to get this working?

Thanks, it seems I got it working by updating the .htaccess file and de-installing then re-installing the issued ssl certificate - really more of a headache than it should have been - hoping it runs more smoothly for people in the future 😃

Unfortunately, we won't be able to help with that on the forums. It will require someone taking a look at the server configuration to see what's going on with that particular SSL. As volunteers, we just don't have those capabilities.

    Hi @bjornih ,

Just out of curiousity, was the SSL you used in the same account as the Managed Wordpress?  For that setup it is very, very unusual for there to be any additional steps after the assignment of the primary, registered domain.  Was this a migration from another site where the domain name had to have its settings altered.?

Looking for an answer to an unusual situation!
