CNAME problem

my website is I'd like to redirect to I followed the instructions on my hosting website (Carrd). It says in A put the IP address in Value. And in the first CNAME to put in value (where @ is). But when I do that and press Apply, my entry is deleted and it just says @ again. So then I flipped it around and put where it says Host and @ where it says Value. That didn't work either.

What am I doing wrong? Why is this so difficult?

Thank you

Re: CNAME problem

Use the @ symbol instead of your domain name.

Type: A

Host/name: @

Points to/value: [your hosting IP address]

Host/name: www

Points to/value: @

Changes to the DNS are not reflected immediately.  It usually takes about an hour or two, but can take up to 48 hours.
