Cannot connect to Mac Built-in FTP server

Hi there,

Anyone have luck connecting their GoDaddy account to the mac built-in server (from desktop or finder window, press cmd+K)? I've verified with a GoDaddy support agent that I'm using the correct FTP address, username and password, but I'm still not able to establish a connection. Any ideas?

I solved the issue, but it had nothing to do with wordpress or secure FTP.

You can connect by using the following sequence, if anyone out there finds the same issue:

"ftp://username+domain.com:password@IPaddress". As a reminder, it is a read-only folder once it appears in the finder.

The connect to server in Mac OS X is not an FTP client - it's for connecting to a file share, like a windows network or a network drive. This is different than FTP

You will need to use a program like CyberDuck or FileZilla to FTP from the Mac

Actually you can FTP and FTPS (http://osxdaily.com/2011/02/07/ftp-from-mac/)

However if you are using Managed WordPress this is SFTP which is not supported
