Re: View auto renewal period of domain names and modify it

Please follow these steps;

  1. Log in to your Godaddy account.
  2. Click this icon in the upper-right corner:
  3. Click   Account Settings.
  4. Click   Renewals & Billing.
  5. Select the product or products you want to auto renew.
  6. Click   Auto Renew On.
  7. Click   Turn Auto Renew On. In the   Billing Details   list, the auto-renewal date appears next to the product name.

Thanks for your reply!

Unfortunately that does not give a solution:

  1. Log in to your Godaddy account.
  2. Click this icon in the upper-right corner:
  3. Click   Account Settings.
  4. Click   Renewals & Billing.
  5. Select the product or products you want to auto renew.
  6. Click   Auto Renew On.
The domains in question already have auto renew on and I get a message stating that auto renew has already been set. I also tried to cancel Renewal and then enable it again but still no option to set any period.
Very confusing and user unfriendly system this.

Anybody from GoDaddy that can help me with this?

I need to modify some renewal periods soon because they're very near the auto renewal date.

Re: View auto renewal period of domain names and modify it

Hi @PHdJThis thread should help you understand what renewal settings are available. Essentially, if you use automatic renewal, domains will always renew for the same term they were originally registered for. This can not be reduced. If you want to only renew a domain for a single year that was previously registered for multiple years, you would need to manually renew it. I hope that helps.

Re: View auto renewal period of domain names and modify it

Hi Jesse,

Thanks for your reply, that explains a lot i.e. that it is not possible to modify the auto renewal period.

Very disappointing, never seen that before with a host. Having to manually renew it, poses a risk so that's not an option either.
