pending approval godaddy auction

I just listed my domain on sale. I am getting TXT code. But is domain is  from godaddy itself. Then why i need to verify domain ownership.

For certain services (like selling domains) even if domain is registered in your own account, you still need to do some of the verifications as GoDaddy uses 3rd party services which don't have direct access to all the account information. The txt record is a way to verify you have access to the DNS for the domain.
