I think I made a mistake - SSL without Hosting

Hey,

When purchasing purely a domain name, it said it came with a free SSL certificate.

I was under the impression that after setting it up, it should be ready to go. When browsing to the domain from my iPhone, all works as expected. When doing it on PC though, I cant get to the page and I have an SSL error.

I have made an APP which is hosted on a third-party website(Itch.io) for point of sale. And this domain is meant to serve is a redirect until hosting becomes feasible.

I wanted my domain to server this purpose.
myapp.app > redirect > Itch.io/myapp

subdomain.myapp.app > redirect > Itch.io/myapp/post

Once I get solo hosted, replace the redirects with actual pages hosted on myapp.app domain.

Am I wrong in thinking I can have an SSL authenticated website without hosting?

Ass I purchased a ".app" domain, SSL is mandatory.
