ssl for domain managed elsewhere

I have a domain registered & managed elsewhere (not in GoDaddy).

Can I purchase a SSL certificate for that domain in GoDaddy?

Re: ssl for domain managed elsewhere

Hi @avichoice,

Thank you for posting. Yes, you can purchase an SSL even if your domain is registered somewhere else. After you request a certificate we need to verify you own the domain by checking publicly available records in the WHOIS database. In some cases, we ask customers to manually verify that they control their domain names. For information on that process, see Verify domain ownership (HTML or DNS).

SSL on domain not managed by Godaddy

Good day,

I'm hosting a web site here but not the domain.

I purchased a SSL certificate and installed in the default domain because it was the only chance in select box. But how can i do to use this certificate with the domain not present at Godaddy?

DNS there, hosting here, where to buy the SSL?

My client has their domain name and name servers at Verio with all sorts of complicated email settings that I don't want to mess with, so I want the DNS to stay with Verio. I've set up hosting at GoDaddy and would like to associate an SSL with it. There currently is an SSL at Verio and I just purchased one here but when I point the A record to the GoDaddy IP, the SSL doesn't work. I missed a step. Help, please!
