Nic.sh (operated by Donuts) is the sponsor and Donuts is our backend provider for the country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD) .sh extensions that represents St Helena Island.

Who can register .sh domains?

Anyone can register .sh domain names.

Registration restrictions

When registering a .sh domain, you must follow specific requirements.

  • Must use: 3 - 63 characters
  • Can use: Letters (a-z characters), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (except in the 1st or last characters of the domain name)
  • Cannot use: Special Characters (e.g., & and #)
  • IDNs: Not supported

Features

  • Registration length: 1-10 years
  • Renewal length: 1-10 years
    • Your .sh domain renews before its expiration date. If auto-renew is turned on, we'll attempt renewal 39 days prior to the domain's expiration date. If the first attempt fails, we'll continue attempting renewal multiple times prior to the domain's expiration date.
    • If we cannot auto-renew the domain name and you do not manually renew it by the expiration date, you can attempt to recover your domain with any applicable fees.
    • Due to time zone differences, registry updates to your .sh domain name occur very early in the day. If you decide to manually renew your domain name, we recommend that you do so prior to its expiration date.

  • Transfers to another GoDaddy account: Supported
